Exactly!! We've been hearing about this for how long? And nothing! It's absolutely embarrassing!! Hell if they are just going to throw money away, why don't they just write a check to the residents of East county? At least we'd have a say in how we chose to spend it!! It's a damn shame that our little community is being forced to "keep up" with other communities all to see it just being wasted. Hope they sleep well at night. Worst kind of pimps!

It was not well published. I didn't even know about it until the day of, when I went to the new Academy. I asked a friend about all police and Signs that said event parking. Never heard about it once until that day. Get a good promoter that knows how to do the job correctly. I would have loved to go. Plenty of my friends as well.

I was thinking the same. I would have came to see Sundance, but why all the rap? Rap is in the past. And who want more trouble around here?

What were you amateurs thinking. You have no idea what you were doing and you were learning as you go at 1.2 mil...I read the lineup of one hit wonders and just started laughing, could not think of why are these people there except Sundance and at those prices.
I live in Austin (class of NC 78) now for the last 31 years and know when reading a good show and man you blew it and were suckers. Porter and New Caney is in the country as of now. I know it is changing with people bringing more crime to the area. I still go back to visit family and friends but you would have been better off getting some great Austin /Houston bands for 3-10k each hell maybe ZZ Top (Htown) or Willie there to fill this bill and still not spent what you did.. Keep Sundance on the bill. Plus there are some very good named country acts in Montgomery county all you had to do was ask Sundance he would have gladly told you and that money would have been spent back in to the county. You see it is the parents that have the money and I could have seen a family watching these artists. But still not at these prices. You would have been better off with a filled up event and families would have had some extra money for the vendors. I would love to see what you paid these people out of the 700k and the Porter /New Caney folks should demand it and heads should roll.

Well most of the people out in this area could not afford the prices on the tickets. And further more no one is going to come from other areas like The Woodlands to see anything in Porter or New Caney and personally I have lived in New Caney for over 20 years and I prefer it to be country. Unfortunately it is changing fast.

They were trying to gear it toward young people, but that is kind of stupid since it was over a 100 for a ticket. What kid has that kind of money.

There is something off with this 542 Entertainment company. They are going to put on a Million dollar plus show so they decide to hire a company that was just created two and a half years prior, and the owner and members of this company are not even from this country?
I promise you one of a couple things happened. There was either an enormous kickback on this deal, or this was helping out a friend of someone sitting on the board. Guaranteed! This lined the pockets of someone at the expense of the people of EMC, and why? Because they believe they are smarter than everyone else in EMC, and can get away with it.
Notice that shortly after notice of this epic failure came out, we then received word that the water park that has been put off for years ( more money given away ) is mysteriously going to built and finished by next spring. ( another lie as a distraction) Don't buy what they are shoveling! These people are masters of manipulating the public.
Yep... I'm done here! Emoticon

New Caney Porter is very family oriented. I did actually run across EMC newsletter and was excited. That is until I saw who they brought in.. either old rap stars from the 80's or rap stars that were iffy and most popular on youtube. I about died. My 20 something daughters were flabbergasted they wanted nothing to do with that venue. I am not actually sure what they thought they were doing but next time they would be better off asking our local PTA parents to set it up, that way it will be a fun event for all, it will make money or at least not lose any, and it will be good for our growing community. Rap the Ranch made me NOT want to go near the town center thinking that it was built for young wild and crazy things.
