@botanylover : Well the thing is even if it is a "slow" season....it just takes 1 to hit Houston. I wish I had pulled the trigger a few years ago and purchased a whole house generator. Rats!!

@Cbear : I hope it's a sleepy season like last year..... yeah, a whole house generator has to be a bit spendy now!!

@Cbear , @botanylover : We had to replace our 14-year-old whole-house generator last year. $7100 to swap it out -- reusing the existing disconnect switch, wiring, gas connections, and concrete generator pad. An in$tall from scratch would've been much higher.
