I think the Sams Club gas was down to $1.89 not too long ago, very cheap...

Yeah, they were $1.889 yesterday when I stopped at Kroger's pumps. With the Kroger card you get an extra .03 off and it would have matched Sams. With the storm, Kroger's couldn't hook up to get my debit card approved, so I figured I'd stop by later and get it.
In that 2 hr delay they raised it to the $1.989...maybe I need to get a Sams membership if they keep their price that low all the time.

Not everyone is happy about the expansion, the amount of people moving out here, the criminal element being brought in. Sad.......

We really need a couple of nice sit-in restaurants. There's already tons of quick foods!

I think it's awesome we're getting these new fast food places and stores...I mean instead of driving further to Humble and dealing with more traffic and larger crowds, might as well have the same places closer! But, I have ways of knowing that there will be more sit down places to eat that will be better and more expensive and quality food...these new area builds happen in phases, theres a lot more to come, the area has "Plenty" of room to grow and add more! Businesses do a lot of research to determine if one of their stores or resturants makes financial sense to build in certain areas, if they can't make enough profit, well they simply won't build...but as more homes are built, and neighborhoods expanded, and more incomes are here, that's when we will see more!

I think that's right. It's a "chicken or the egg" problem...The more stores that open, the more foot traffic there will be, which will cause more investment in the area. The fast food joints are always the first to open, then will come nice places later. The nice thing is that the Football Stadium and sports fields are so near, that will naturally draw extra traffic. The movie theater and planned amphitheater will also bring in crowds, as well as potentially the new EMCID headquarters.

I'm a native Texas girl. I grew up in the (years ago) small town of Magnolia, TX.
I've watched the growth and development of The Woodlands (I remember when it was just a two-lane highway not much there at all).
It's kind of humorous to have a negative attitude towards the growth and expansion of our city and surrounding areas. It's inevitable.
In case no one has noticed, there's been a massive population explosion and we should be thankful to live in a thriving economic city such as Houston and it's surrounding areas.
With the growth and development, first of all -
Are the people of New Caney unaware how many trailer park, mobile homes are in the area? Maybe it's time to air up those tires and roll your houses out farther.
Are you honestly blaming "all the crime" is coming from the new comers?
I find that quite ridiculous to not realize the crime has been there, crime is always lurking around - there will always be good vs. bad
And I hope to see more good moving in the area - to push out the bad.
I hope to see positive development and I look forward to change what has always been regarded as a hillbilly, Podunk town into a better tune rather than the Deliverance banjo music themed song.
I am a new comer. I lived downtown for most of my adult life and I chose to move farther out because the cost to buy anything central is outrageous.
I chose to put my money in this newly developing area.
I am a professional, single woman, with no kids and I have great aspirations to see this area thrive and develop.
I hope more like-minded people such as myself are coming to take over! :-)

Well, I'm going to miss the old Krogers but I guess the Hobby Lobby and the Chili's might make up for it...
