Update on DH
I haven't posted about this in a while because at this point, it's one big blur. This is his fourth hospitalization since August 20. He was discharged on Tuesday of last week. On Friday a huge knot appeared near the area where his drain had been. Saturday morning, we were back in ER. They have pushed 2 antibiotics and monitored the drainage ever since and determined that the conservative approach is not working. He is having surgery this afternoon. Goal is to clean out the infection and remove part of the colon that is damaged. He will have a temporary colostomy. It's major surgery, and recovery will be tough. He has a good attitude about it though. He just wants to get well enough to go to church and restaurants.

#msg1966333Best wishes, Bloom. No matter how you look at it, it's a crappy situation.

#msg1966428Cbear : I just got to the hospital. He said he had a pretty good night. He is having some pain, but guess that's to be expected. I think we have a long road ahead.
