Please do not spit out your chewing gum in a parking lot to melt on 100 degree asphalt, in July, in Texas for ME to step in! I will show myself out now.

@Cbear : That is the worst, especially because there is no real way to get it off your shoe without having to touch it. EWWWWWW

According to Google, in 100 degree weather, pavement can be 140-160 degrees! Unless the shoes are new, I would consider trashing them instead of trying to get that gooey mess off.

@otto : No dog here, but I remember, as a kid, walking barefoot in the summer, and how it was impossible to walk on the pavement.

My mom and I went to Palm Springs one time, and it was so hot our shoes melted!! They were even having a fried egg on the sidewalk contest!!🫪🫪
