HUMBLE, TEXAS - Old Humble Distilling Company, the only independent distillery in Humble, Texas, today announced the grand opening of the Tasting Room at the Old Humble Distilling Company.  

This grand opening will be celebrated every weekend in April with $5 cocktails, free tours, and a limited edition

“People have been asking me for a few years if I’m going to release a cask strength whiskey. I’ve been reluctant to do it because I didn’t want to release an unbalanced whiskey,” Joseph Breda, owner and chief distiller at Old Humble Distilling Company said. “It was a bit of a risk, but this has been a long time coming. We found just the right barrel at just the right proof that achieved the flavor and texture I was looking for that balanced the higher proof of a cask strength rye. I’m very happy with how it turned out and excited to share it with our fans.” 

Black Cat Ridge Cask Strength Straight Rye Whiskey features a deep oaky flavor with hints of cinnamon, followed by a strong, spicy finish at an undiluted 120 proof. The whiskey is aged in 50-gallon oak barrels for at least two years, then transferred to small, craft barrels to enhance the flavor and supercharge the aging process.

“This cask strength rye is something special. And it’s only available at the distillery while supplies last. We made 120 bottles at 375mL and have enough left in the barrel for a few more. But when they’re gone, they’re gone,” continued Joseph Breda.
