“This new store is very exciting for this developing part of town,†said Store Manager JR Galicia. “We are proud of our Walmart and can’t wait for customers to come in and check it out.â€

I was wondering why they didn't make more propaganda , did more advertising to let us know when they would open,or did anything special.
The word must have gotten out somehow. I stopped there this morning and the place was a zoo, but almost nobody was shopping. When I got to checkout I found out that the register wasn't accepting credit cards -- they all showed up as "invalid." Fortunately, I'd planned to pay cash. I noticed that the parking lot is straight-in parking with no one-way lanes. I prefer angle-in lots. There also don't seem to be as many cart return stations as in Porter.
When I said "almost nobody was shopping" I just meant that folks were just milling about. Few of 'em had carts. They all seemed to be waiting for something to happen. Not sure what.
They did put an announcement in the Observer, but in RF the Observer is only delivered as an insert to the home-delivery Chronicle. Hit-or-miss at best.
Well they built it right in my neighborhood and I didn't know I didn't see any signs I didn't get anything through the mail
But honestly I haven't been going to Walmart in probably months I prefer my Kroger even though I have to drive a little bit further but not much.
Is there a Woodforest National Bank inside?
There is a bank, but I don't remember if it's Woodforest. I no longer do brick-and-mortar banking. When I was in the store on Wednesday a large number of banker types were loitering in their business suits, apparently looking for customers.
According to Woodforest's website, they do have a branch in the new Walmart.
