Two Shot, One Dead In New Caney Overnight
Last night (1/1/417) around midnight, Montgomery County 911 received a call in reference to a shooting in the 25000 block of Lantern Lane in New Caney.
The 19-year-old male caller said he and his friend had both been shot and his friend was laying in the street "bleeding to death."
Upon arrival, Deputies and medical responders found a 20-year-old male deceased in the street. The 9-1-1 caller was immediately transported to Conroe Regional Hospital with life threatening injuries due to gunshot wounds.
The identities of the males was not released.
The only description given of the shooters was two Hispanic males.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit along with the representatives with the District Attorney’s Office and Crime Scene Investigators are still looking into the incident.
While the motive for the shooting is still being investigated it does appear that narcotics were involved.
