This is so strange! A little bit long here. So a year ago, my neighbors moved to Ohio and sold their home. The family never moved in! I have seen them come and go and only once got to meet the Dad about a week ago. Myself, he and another neighbor were chatting and asked why they never moved in. He said that he and his wife were talking about it and she really didn't want to leave Atasocita as she wanted to be close to her parents. Why in the world would you not have this discussion before buying? Anyway, now the house is for lease. Wish me luck in getting good neighbors!

That is odd. I can't imagine paying mortgage, taxes and insurance on a house sitting empty for a year. Hope whoever moves in is a good neighbor!

Taxes on a house without homestead exemption would be big bucks.

My next door neighbor and her sister bought adjoining lots a few years back. The neighbor built immediately and moved in. About a year later the sister also built a home. That was three years ago. The sister lives in D.C., and she still hasn't moved in. She had a fence installed about a month ago, so maybe soon...

That sounds like someone who might be planning to retire. If so, that kinda makes sense.
