Splendora PD Stops Suspect with 22-Cases of Promethazine/CodeineFrom the Splendora Police Department:EXCUSE ME, DO YOU HAVE A PRESCRIPTION FOR ALL THIS?Splendora Police Departments Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for no headlights when required. When the officer made contact with the driver, the officer obtained probable cause to search the vehicle. The driver refused to obey a Lawful Order and exit the vehicle. Officers were able to safely remove the driver without incident. During the probable cause search of the vehicle, officers located 22-cases of Promethazine/Codeine. This equates to 264 bottles. This particular drug is used to make a street drug called “ Purple Drank.” The driver came to Houston to retrieve the drugs and transport them back to Tennessee before we intervened.The driver was taken into custody for
- Delivery of a Dangerous Drug,
- Possession of a Controlled Substance (Oxy) and
- Interference with Public Duties. He will be transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
