New Caney (and Slendora) ISD has cancelled school for a second straight day because of the icy weather. "Due to severe weather and hazardous road conditions, New Caney ISD and all district schools will be closed Wednesday, January 17. Also, all extracurricular activities and athletic events scheduled for Wednesday have been postponed. The district will monitor weather conditions throughout Wednesday. Should conditions necessitate any further changes to the schedule, updates will be posted to the district and campus websites as well as the district’s Facebook and Twitter accounts. New Caney ISD will also utilize its call out system to inform parents and staff of any necessary schedule changes."
