The Rusty Buckle Reopens in New Caney After Rebuilding From 2023
The Rusty Buckle Reopens in New Caney After Rebuilding From 2023 Fire The Rusty Buckle Craft BBQ and Texas Cuisine officially reopened in New Caney this morning, September 25th, with a strong community turnout for its 10:30 AM grand opening. Owner Allen Rhoden was back behind the counter working the line as family, friends, local residents and members of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and Fire Department came out to support the restaurant's return. The reopening marks a major comeback after a Thanksgiving Day fire in 2023 destroyed much of the restaurant's cooking area. EMCID later approved a grant and low-interest loan that helped the business rebuild, retain employees during the transition and move into a larger space behind its original location. Following the fire, Rhoden continued serving customers through a food trailer and a temporary setup while his family worked toward rebuilding.
