**USE ROMAN FOREST BLVD RR CROSSING**

Starting Thursday, March 16, the entrance of Via Principale Prky will be completely closed for approximately a week, as part of a Precinct 4 road improvement project.

Via Principale Prky

@otto : what the heck is up with your neighborhood with this street name? That doesn't look very Principale to me, versus Roman Forest Blvd, and what's with the redundancy? Have y'all no standards??

@jjjj : Via Principale is a main thoroughfare in Tavola, not Roman Forest. We have Roman-related street names like Replubic, Parliament, Athens, and Parthenon. We also specialize in misspelled street names like Michaelangelo and Da Vince (Lombardi?), plus we like to misspell correctly-named streets on our street signs: Constatine, Dog Wood, Humming Bird.

I wonder if the closure means that we're getting close to the reopening of the Loop 494 bridge over Caney Creek. I hope so. That was a handy route to New Caney businesses (think Food's Fair), and the recycling center at Precinct Four on Roberts Road.

There are also some messy paving projects underway on Roman Forest Blvd from Appian Way to Tram/Galaxy and McCleskey Road from the 59/69 feeder to Bull Sallas Park.

A friend was late to cards on Monday, I guess that is why.

@otto : Ah! I apologize for unjustly maligning y'all's road names. I'll malign the correct roads going forward!

Tonight I was trying to navigate some of those super confusing English-named awful roads when detouring to get around a house blocking Willaby. It's always a relief to actually make it up to Roman Forest Boulevard after mucking through that nonsense.

@jjjj : You're lucky that you missed the Appian Way-to-Galaxy/Tram section of Roman Forest Boulevard. They're "improving" it. At the moment, it's covered in bumpy, oily, gravel. Same is true of Galaxy/Tram from RFB up to 2090. I guess the county is going to repave both roads. RFB really needs it. It got torn up by all those dump trucks hauling dirt to the E-States development.

@jjjj : BTW, did you notice how clean Wilaby looks. From my experience it's usually trashy. I guess either the judges orange-shirts or some locals picked it up. Now I wish they'd attack Parliament near Silver Chalice. That area looks like a garbage truck exploded.

@otto : For awhile someone had put signs up in English and Spanish re: No Dumping and fine - not sure if that's what worked, or if it was just the cleanup that followed (not sure if that was a local effort or if the county helped) that broke the pattern. Definitely much improved and I hope it stays that way! Unfortunately that hasn't stopped people from continuing to use it as a dog dumping ground.

Looking at Google Maps, it was part of Yarmouth and then the little stretch of Gloucester connecting that to Willaby that were notably bad last night. That Gloucester bit appears to be where all the previous Willaby trash dumpers are now concentrating. No wonder the creeks are so full of junk.

To get out of there, I was given good advice to follow Willaby west to the end, then up Shire a bit to Cambridge for real roads. That worked much better. On my way in I'd just been eyeballing the map to find the closest connections; glad I didn't have to do the reverse of that in the dark. I hate having to detour in that area at night; the connectivity isn't good enough for the phone maps to work well, the navigation can't handle detours or road names, and there's nowhere to just pull over to figure things out.
