Cbear : We ended up going about halfway between Huntsville and Austin at our furthest point and the. We came back to NC by way of Lake Livingston. It was a beautiful drive.

The purple one is a bee balm which used to be used to make a linament for aching joints on either people or horses. The red one is commonly called a blanket flower or Indian Blanket or in proper white folks nomenclature glaurdia daisey. I mispelled glaurdia as I don't know how to spell that. They are beautiful any way you look at them. Texas is really blessed with gorgeous wild flowers. This is a beautiful land.

botanylover : My Mom and I used to take day trips all the time. We'd take roads that we had never been on and just drive. It was so much fun and she just loved getting out of the house. She was a very special person and I miss her terrifically!!!! Those are beautiful flowers.
