NCHS Ag Boosters Smoked Pork Butts & Briskets

New Caney Ag Booster Club is selling cooked briskets and cooked pork butts! These fundraisers help the kids out so much by providing scholarships! Every penny is used for these kids!

Order by 12/8/21! Pickup on 12/16/21 and 12/17/21 from 8am to 12pm in the New Caney High School Ag Classroom. They will be ready just in time for your Holiday Gatherings!

Pork Butt $35
Brisket $85

All fundraiser proceeds benefit New Caney Ag Booster Club Scholarship!

Even the pork would be more meat than our household typically eats in a couple weeks, but tempting!

I finally had to look it up - I knew "pork butt" is actually a shoulder cut, but didn't know how the name came about. Turns out "butt" is the term that was used for the barrels that pork used to be stored in.

@jjjj : It freezes well too! Sometimes when we make a huge pork butt and we don't feel like eating at all we freeze it.

@jjjj : Yes! It's definitely for a good cause. It's nice that it does free well because I don't know many people that could eat an entire one unless they eat it nonstop for days or had a large family.

@HarleyRider : really they should officially change the name of that cut to "top shoulder" or something like that that sounds better and won't confuse people.
