Tavola Sees 8 Truck Thefts in 12 Days Amid Regional Crime Surge
Fox 26 Houston spoke with Roman Forest Police Chief Stephen Carlisle today regarding a growing regional issue: a surge in GMC and Chevrolet truck thefts across the Greater Houston Area. According to RFPD, between November 23 and December 4, the Tavola subdivision reported 8 vehicle thefts — 5 GMC trucks and 3 Chevrolet trucks. Investigators say thieves are using high-tech devices that allow them to unlock, start, and drive off with these vehicles quickly and quietly. This trend isn’t new nationwide, but the spike in the Houston region over the past month has been significant. In the last couple of weeks, it has become a local problem for southern Montgomery County communities as well. RFPD is working closely with the Montgomery County Auto Theft Task Force, calling it a regional investigation. The department says its Flock license plate cameras have been providing helpful leads. To respond to the surge, the department has increased patrols, authorized overtime, canceled officer vacations, and even placed Chief Carlisle on patrol during peak theft hours. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is also assigning additional units to the area to support patrol coverage. How to protect your vehicle:
• Park inside a garage or in a well-lit area
• Make sure your home security cameras are active and that motion alerts are enabled
• Always lock your vehicle, remove key fobs, and consider using a steering wheel lock or kill switch
• Report suspicious activity immediately to dispatch at 936-538-5900 (option 2)

Wow! I know that everyone doesn't have access to a garage, but I can't believe how many people have their garage so full of 'stuff' that there's no room for the car.

Bloom : If you drive one of these trucks, it likely wouldn't fit in many garages regardless. The garages builders are putting in houses are too small for full sized trucks.
That's what happens when our county is overrun with illegals. We are still in need of more ICE operations- specifically King's Colony and the surrounding areas, and of course Colony Ridge/Plum Grove- the nucleus of the problem.Gray boxed for being political and/or controversial in a General Chat discussion.
