Keefer Crossing MS Band Dominates Bayou City Classic Contest
Congratulations to the amazing Keefer Crossing Middle School Kodiak Band! Recently they have been tearing up the competition both at the Bayou City Classic and the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Arts in Action contests!
Our Non-Varsity Band under the direction of Mr. Isaac Martinez earned the highest division rating from every judge and earned a Division 1 Trophy and an Outstanding Performance Trophy. This is the first time in school history the KCMS Non-Varsity has competed in a band festival AND they came home with the highest recognition possible!!!
Our Varsity Band under the direction of Mrs. Monica Hester and Mr. Isaac Martinez earned the highest division rating from every judge and ALSO came home with a Division 1 Trophy, an Outstanding Performance Trophy, and for the FIRST TIME IN SCHOOL HISTORY our Wind Ensemble was named BEST IN FESTIVAL for being the best instrumental ensemble of this 2-day competition, this includes ALL middle school AND high school bands and orchestras that competed!!! There is NO higher recognition an instrumental ensemble can earn at a music festival!!
In addition, 10 outstanding soloist medals were unanimously given to the following students in BOTH Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble:

Emily Molina- Marimba, El Palomino Noble
Alex Quijada- Clarinet, Viva
Jackie Hernandez- Alto Sax, Choose Joy
Jorge Guzman Lopez- Flute, Viva
Laney Odom- Trumpet, El Palomino Noble
