Dedicated volunteers at MCAS make a difference in April
April is Volunteer Appreciation Month! At MCAS, they have some of the most dedicated and caring volunteers who do a number of activities, such as walking and bathing dogs, fostering, adoption events, photography and so much more!
Are you looking for a way to get involved? Perhaps you have/had a rescue pet that has inspired you to pay if forward? They would love to have you volunteer with them and could always use the help!
They asked a few folks about why they volunteer, and here's what they had to say:
Volunteer Brittany: "We give love and affection to dogs that have never known kindness. As a bonus, all the exercise you get walking dogs will leave you feeling youthful and rejuvenated!"
Volunteer Pam: “We know we can’t save every dog, but it is so fulfilling to know that we are making a world of difference for some!”
Volunteer Joy: "I made a New Year’s Resolution for 2024 to find a way to give back to my local community. Montgomery County has SO many dogs in need of homes. And I LOVE dogs so it was a no brainer to volunteer at MCAS as a volunteer & foster. 😊"
Volunteer Crystal: "It’s great overall therapy for us, and so fulfilling knowing you’re giving that pup the best day ever. Even if you can only go once a week, it makes all the difference for them❤️"
Volunteer Vaish: "There is something beautiful and so fulfilling about helping dogs - we don't do it for praise, accolades, money or anything material. It is that picture of a a former shelter dog finally getting to lay happily on a couch or a comfy dog bed in their adoptive home, that motivates us to walk, foster and help these sweet pups!"
