@TownHubAdmin : I'm really curious about the Highlands river access (if any) so may go and check out their park. Still seems weird to have a community only accessible via tollroad.
 
Slightly farther, this weekend Fri - Sun is the annual Houston Gem and Mineral (and Jewelry and Fossil) show in Humble:

Tickets $9, free for kids 10 and under. Free parking. Worth a visit if one has any interest in such things. They do demos and fossil ID's and such too.

The Highlands event has lots of activities for kids. Nice park and amenities. Houses look nice but small lots. No one's been pushy asking for personal information, other than registration online (not required, gets you a tote bag and food ticket) needing an email address.
 
Worth visiting during the event today if curious, tho be aware it's off 99 so there is a small toll involved.

@Sweetie : There's still time - it runs tomorrow too. If you're at all interested in rocks etc., it's well worth a visit. I'd say there's more in the way of rocks/minerals/fossils than jewelry, but there is plenty of that as well. Just mostly jewelry that is also featuring rocks/minerals Emoticon
 
Someone needs my help elsewhere tomorrow so I won't make it this year, but went last year and a previous time too, and likely will go next year. It's a huge show!
