Explore works of art made from Lego blocks at “No Limits – The Artistry of Bricks,” the new Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts exhibit. Legos built into monuments, such as the downtown Houston skyline and the Alamo in San Antonio, will be displayed along with other recognizable creations.

The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Admission is free!

No Limits: The Artistry of Bricks features more than 20 works that elevate the toy to the realm of contemporary art. Our goal is to introduce visitors to art and architecture in a language they understand, while also demonstrating the potential of imagination and the power of creativity. Some pieces in the exhibition hang on gallery walls; others are 3-dimensional and reach over 7 feet tall. Engineering, math and problem-solving all come into play to create these works of art. The exhibit showcases works of art by some of the most talented LEGO® brick artists in Houston and across the country.

After being inspired by the artistry of bricks, it’s time to build your own masterpiece! Guests of all ages are invited to build their own brick creations through a special hands-on area of the exhibition sponsored by AAUW North Harris County Branch. The sheer number of bricks available to play with will be an exciting experience as visitors explore building on tables, walls, and floors. From engineering and science to storytelling and collaborative play, children and families will have the opportunity to play on their own or with one another as they unleash their creativity and problem-solving skills.

I have daughters so they didn't play with Legos. But I do remember stepping on Legos at a friends house and those things hurt

@Sweetie : Lego is for everyone!!

That's so cool! We love legos! Maybe we can go check them out. We had a set when we were kids, just the regular bricks, as I don't think those (I called) cheating sets existed. We only had the one set that we had to share among 3 siblings playing with them and watch that the other sibling wouldn't eat them 😅.

My DS when he was little used to LOVE Lego's. Although, I remember one time him coming to me when I was on the phone with a friend and telling me he had one stuck up his nose! Kids.

@Valley_Ranch : When my son was doing them at a young age, the prices were all over the place depending on the difficulty of the project. Too bad you can't buy them used.

@FenderBass : Mine loved Barbie's. . They did not care for Legos at all. I know the girls do that now I didn't know they did it years ago. But I've seen some of the Legos in pinks . I love that

@Sweetie : I'm thinking pink would not have cut it. She wanted to build the Lego castles. She also liked getting me to get on the floor help her build them. Of course, this child also grew up loving jazz and classic rock... She could name a Steely Dan song by the first few bars... LOL She also competing in Hunter Jumper, talk kids to ride horse, and made it to the highest level of girl scouts... funny, her 16 year old daughter wouldn't get near a Lego kit today... LOL
