They got the prohibition slash in the right direction! Good for them!

I've been pulling a bunch of vines out of trees so have a good start on a new burn pile to deal with after it starts raining again. Took literally months last time before there was the right level of wetness around but dry pile and no wind all combined on a weekend I had time to deal with it.

There are some people around us that don't care or don't have access to such notices. They even burn their trash. We can smell the burnt plastic and sometimes hear it pop. It's hard to pinpoint where it's coming from so I can't report it.

Burn bans don't always work. I burned yesterday, guess I shouldn't have sat in the sun for so long... ๐ŸŒž

@garfieldgurl : Some folks either don't know or don't care. The smell of burning plastic is awful, just awful.

You would think people would have enough common sense to not start a fire while everything is so dry. A close friend of mine lives about 2 hours north of here & really got a scare 2 days ago. They're in a rural area, where everyone has acreage. A neighbor was burning something, and their pasture caught fire. Firefighters from the closest town had to come to put it out. It got uncomfortably close to her house!

@Cbear : No idea, but probably not. I'm sure in that area, he's a good old country boy. ๐Ÿ™ƒ At best, maybe he brought over some veggies from his garden or steaks from his freezer as an apology.

@TownHubAdmin : I am not surprised and I think with as dry as it is this is a good idea. Hopefully we will get some much needed rain this week and that could change things.

Sadly, people will disregard this and burn. Hoping nothing gets out of control.
