A case that started with Deputies from Montgomery County PCT 4 Constable Kenneth “Rowdy” Hayden’s Office responding to an armed robbery call in Porter has ended with the perpetrator receiving 30 years for his crime.

On 12/22/2021, a MOCOPct4 Deputy responded to a robbery in progress call in the parking lot of Spec’s Liquor in Porter. Witnesses stated a Hispanic male approached a vehicle occupied by a female and two children, opened the driver's side door, held a knife to the female and demanded her purse. He then cut the purse strap from the victim’s body, jumped into a vehicle and fled the area.

Detectives working the case from both Constable Hayden’s Office and Humble Police Department followed up on social media tips, surveillance videos and statements, which led them to the suspect: Armando Jesus Ramirez (36, Porter, TX). An arrest warrant was issued for Ramirez; shortly after PCT 4’s Special Response Team (SRT) took him into custody at his apartment in Porter on 01/26/2022.

Ramirez, a convicted felon with charges that included aggravated assault, aggravated robbery, robbery, assault on a public servant, theft and narcotics, was arrested. On Tuesday, June 14, 2022, Ramirez plead guilty to the aggravated robbery charge and was sentenced to 30 years.

Sorry to vent guys, but after having been a regional supervisor in the apartment industry 40 years, my first thought is WHY was he allowed to rent an apartment? OR if he didn't rent but just occupied, again WHY? I know that Felons who had charges for murder, sexual assault, bodily injury or violent in general are not allowed to rent or occupy apartments due to the possibility of harm to other residents. So if he was living in an apartment in Porter, then someone is not doing their job. (Unfortunately there are companies who don't comply because they just want occupancy $$) Then we have this sort in the neighborhood.
