The Humble Museum is offering the community a chance to experience life during the American Revolution, portrayed by Humble ISD students, as part of the event, “A Revolutionary Experience!”

The event, free to the public, is taking place Saturday, Jan. 22, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at the museum located at 601 Higgins Street in Humble.

“A Revolutionary Experience!” will feature historic recreations of Revolutionary-era living, including an 18th century town site; a demonstration of a Continental Army encampment; flintlock firing demonstrations; a working 18th century kitchen; and a brief, family-oriented play starring students from Humble ISD high schools.

The play will be presented at the top of each hour from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. during the event.

The student actors are part of a local acting group called the Revolutionary Education Acting Company. Established in 2020, the group is made up of 27 Humble ISD students who perform at events with a history theme across the area.

In addition to the performance by students, “A Revolutionary Experience!” will include walk-up stations for children to make 18-century crafts as well as games.

I'm not big into that Revolution enactment. But I hope the kids enjoyed themselves and I hope it was a success
