Space Center Houston Sensory Friendly Events

Space Center Houston invites people of all ages diagnosed with conditions such as, but not limited to, autism spectrum disorder and sensory processing disorder, to explore science and space exploration in a reduced sensory environment.
 
Sensory Friendly Events, presented by United Airlines, provides a sensory-supportive setting including modified lighting, music and sound effects. The number of tickets are limited for this exclusive event to allow visitors to enjoy Space Center Houston in a sensory friendly atmosphere without large crowds.
 
2021 Sensory Friendly Events schedule
12/4/21 from 8am-10am
 
2022 Sensory Friendly Events schedule
2/19/22 from 8am-10am
4/2/22 from 8am-10am
9/23/22 from 6pm-9pm
 
Visitors can participate in special educational activities operated by instructors who are trained to accommodate guests with sensory sensitivities. There also will be a designated quiet room.

@NewCaneyDotCom : Great that more places are doing this sort of thing. Especially nice to see it at the movie theaters - the default volume is so loud in those these days that it's a bit much even for some who don't usually have sensitivities.

@jjjj : The volume is indeed so loud! That's why I keep some musician earplugs (which are very inconspicuous 😁) in my purse all the time. I actually worn them at an event I went to last weekend in Conroe. We were eating lunch on the picnic table that was in the path of the speakers sound and I was so happy to have them 😁.
