As the smells of the holidays waft through the East Montgomery County Improvement District's Complex, the spirit will come alive through fellowship, music and food during the annual EMCID Open House on Monday, Dec. 2 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
New this year, Santa Claus will be on hand to take pictures with the kids from 5-7 p.m.
"We wanted to add a new element to our open house by asking Santa to stop by, and even with his busy schedule he agreed," said Kelley Mattlage, Chief Communications Officer. "We hope parents bring the kids and say hello, grab some holiday treats, and check out our giant Christmas tree!"
The annual free holiday tradition was started for the community to come together to get to know one another and learn more about EMCID. The fun kicks off with light finger foods such as sandwiches, chips and dips and desserts provided by Top Hat Catering. While various foods will be available during the day, the heartier options such as shrimp and Prime Rib will be available later in the day.
For the entertainment, the Porter High School Chorale will arrive at noon, all dressed up in costume, to sing carols for the guests and the Pat Brink Jazz Quartet will play jazzy Christmas tunes at 5 p.m.
