No Shave November: The "Fuzz" get Fuzzy at MCTXSheriff

At the conclusion of October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office will continue its battle in the fight against cancer. Sheriff Rand Henderson is proud to once again partner with the local chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) for "No Shave November". For the second year, Sheriff Henderson has authorized a "No Shave November" for all employees at the Sheriff's Office as a way of supporting our community and the fight against cancer!

"No Shave November" is a movement to donate money that an individual would typically spend on shaving and grooming to educate about cancer prevention, save lives, and aid those fighting the battle.

The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is to research cures for blood cancers, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. They also provide resources, free blood cancer information, education and support for patients, survivors, families and healthcare professionals. More information about their organization can be found here.
Throughout November, employees will be allowed to grow beards in an effort to raise cancer awareness. The only requirement is that employees must maintain their beards in a professional manner. On December 1st, Deputies will have to shave the beards off, and go back to the Sheriff's Office grooming policy. To participate in this event, employees must make a one-time charitable donation of at least $50.00 to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - The Woodlands. At the end of the event, Sheriff Henderson will present a check to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for all the proceeds collected.

The public is encouraged to take part in this effort with us. Please follow the link below and help in the battle against cancer.
