On May 4, 2019, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office held its 3 rd Annual "Sharing is Caring" Food Drive. With the help of multiple agencies, volunteers and community partners, over 35,000 pounds of food, hygiene, and household supplies were donated as well as $24,000 in financial donations were collected and given to Mission Northeast. All items donated support Mission Northeast and the community it serves, which is mostly in the East Montgomery County area.Sheriff Rand Henderson states, "These boots on the ground events are invaluable to ensuring that those less fortunate receive the things they need. In this day and age, there's no reason for a members of our community to go hungry.
