The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is still investigating a 3-vehicle accident that ended one person's life and sent another to the hospital on Thursday.
According to a statement from DPS Sergeant Erik Burse, in the early afternoon hours of Thursday, November 15, emergency personnel was dispatched to a multi-vehicle accident in the 12000 block of HWY 242 at Crystal Creek Bridge.
A total of 3 vehicles were involved in the crash - A food trailer belonging to a local business (Fish Tales), a passenger car and a small SUV.
An early investigation determined that the trailer, which was being pulled by a pickup truck traveling westbound, came unhooked and drifted into the eastbound lane. It then struck the car, which in turn hit the SUV. The operator of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene. a person that was in the SUV was transported to Memorial Hermann in The Woodlands with only minor injuries.
HWY 242 was shut down for several hours while DPS conducted its investigation. Multiple agencies, including MCSO and PCT 4 helped direct traffic and secure the scene.
No criminal charges have been filed at this time.
