The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in the case of Ray Jasso, who died after being struck by an SUV at a party in New Caney over the weekend.

On 07/03/17, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit received a tip form a party goer that a video existed of the vehicle responsible for the death of Ray Jasso. After reviewing the video, registration information was obtained, which led Detective’s to a residence located in the 600 block of Frisco St., in Houston, where the driver of the vehicle was identified as Raul Najera, H/M, DOB 06/17/1992. He was not on location. However, the vehicle, a 2002 grey, Chevrolet Suburban, was seized at that time for processing by MCSO.
 
Simultaneously, another tip leading to the identity of the male subject with tattoos on both sides of his face was received. An investigation confirmed his identity as Emmanuel Olivares, H/M, also of Houston. He was interviewed by MCSO Detectives and at this time is only believed to have been a passenger in the vehicle. Charges against Emmanuel Olivares are not pending at this time.
 
On 07-04-17, MCSO Homicide Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the murder of Ray Jasso for Raul Najera.
 
On 07-05-17, MCSO Detectives received a tip on the whereabouts of Raul Najera (25, Houston). MCSO, with the assistance of the Texas Rangers went to Raul’s known residence located at 613 Frisco St., Houston and took custody of him. He was transported to MCSO CID office where he was interviewed, then booked into jail, where he is being held on a $500,000 bond.
