2 New Caney Women Arrested For Forgery
On Sunday, 5/21/2017, around 3pm, a PCT 4 deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of FM 1485 and Highway 59 in New Caney. During the traffic stop, the deputy noticed an anomaly on the two TX ID cards that he was given. It appeared a digit on each of the cards was altered. Once the deputy positively identified both subjects in the vehicle, his investigation led to the finding of many receipts from local big box stores. Apparently, the two women were using the altered identification cards to aid them in fraudulent returns at the big box stores.
Both Courtney Rosas (25, New Caney) and Sharon Hickson (50, New Caney) have been arrested on the 3rd degree felony charge of Forgery.
"Fraudulent returns are a big issue plaguing local retailers," stated Constable Hayden. "Hopefully these arrests will curtail some of that and send a message to others that are involved in this illegal activity."
