DWI Suspect Drives Wrong Way On Grand Parkway
On May 3, 2017 just before 10pm, a
Montgomery County Pct. 4 Deputy witnessed a wrong way driver on the Grand Parkway close to Rayford Road. The deputy immediately turned around and stopped the wrong way driver.
As the deputy made contact with the wrong way driver, he could immediately detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the car. After an investigation, including a field sobriety test and a portable breath test (which showed an initial BAC of .275%), 44-year-old Shiloh Lee from Houston was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.
The investigation is still ongoing pending analysis of a blood sample taken from Lee.
“When we hear about wrong way drivers on the roadways, we normally hear about them causing a head-on fatality crash," said Constable Rowdy Hayden. "I’m so glad our deputy was able to stop this from possibly happening...He just might have saved several lives that night.”
Great job, Deputy!!
