Around 5:30pm on 3/29/2017, a Pct. 4 K9 handler and K9 deputy stopped a vehicle in the area of Highway 59S and East River in Splendora, TX for multiple traffic and vehicle violations. The driver of the vehicle advised the deputy his name was Paxtor- Chavez, Welner Leiby H/M 12/19/1989 using a Guatemala ID card. The deputy then used a portable fingerprint scanner and located the driver’s real name, Chavez-Chavez, Santos Wilson H/M 12/19/1989.

Inside the vehicle the deputy located a large amount of US currency. Chevez advised the money was payment for transporting 6 persons from a location in Houston to Baltimore Maryland just a few days ago. Chavez advised this was his third trip in 3 months.
Chavez was placed under arrest for the state jail felony, money laundering and the vehicle was seized.
"At this time we do not have any further information including the names of those that Chavez transported," said Constable Hayden.
