Montgomery County FREE Car Seat Event
Car seats can be challenging to install. Although there are instructions, most people just pull the car seat out of the box and strap them in. Montgomery County Hospital District, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Safe Kids Greater Houston want to make sure you are giving your children the best protection possible by hosting a free car seat event on April 8 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
The event will be at the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Clint People’s Training Academy at 112 Academy Drive in Conroe. Appointments are required for this event and can be made by calling 832.919.7233.
“This was my first time using this service and I’m glad I did,” one parent, Julia wrote. “The technician was super kind, great at explaining and very helpful. I was just there to get 1 car seat installed but she installed both of them and now they are installed correctly. I have already been recommending this service to other people who might need some help with their car seats, as they can definitely be a little tricky to correctly install.”
The goal is to beat the September record setting event of 102 car seat inspections and 96 car seats given away to Montgomery County residents. In addition to giving out car seats, certified technicians will teach those who attend everything they need to know to make sure their car seat is fitted and installed correctly.

If you're wanting to attend:
- Families needing a car seat can get one free car seat per child but both the child and the vehicle must be present. To prove need, please bring your card from the program you are on.
- Women who are pregnant must be in their third trimester of pregnancy in order for them to make an appointment for the car seat for their soon to be born baby to be correctly installed for them.
