Just in case you haven't been down Community Drive lately, there's a new Cuban spot that opened up this week in the strip mall next to ABC 123 Learning Center.
Little Havana Cuban Food, located at 22513 Community Drive, is officially open for business. I love me a good Cuban sandwich, so I couldn't wait to get there once I heard the news.
A very nice young woman greeted us as we entered the quaint little eatery. Her and her mother actually run Little Havana together. I browsed the menu quickly, gave her our order and then picked out a table where we waited (somewhat patiently) for it to be prepared.
In no time at all, our Cuban feast was in front of us. We had the Cuban Sandwich with plantains, the Steak Sandwich with fries, two different empanadas and a couple of imported sodas.
The first thing that caught my eye was the size of the sandwiches...They're HUGE! That and fries (or plantains) and a drink for $8 is a deal. Take a look at their menu below...
Once we stopped stuffing the delicious sandwiches in our faces and caught our breath, it was on to everything else. I'm not usually a fan of empanadas, but they were good as well. Here's a tip from my dining partner though...Ask for the sauce to dip them in. And when you get the sauce, let it spread out on your plate so some gets on your sandwich. You're welcome!
Everything was really good and we plan on returning frequently. It's nice to have something different right here in EMC.
Just a couple of side notes:
-They're not card-friendly yet, so take some cash with you. They expect it to be up and running very soon though.
-Their hours right now are Monday - Saturday, 9AM - 6PM.
