New Caney's EMCID Earns Highest Score in National Business Readiness CertificationThe East Montgomery County Improvement District has earned recertification through the Transatlantic Business and Investment Council's Foreign Direct Investment Qualified Community program, receiving a 93% score, the highest in the TBIC network. The certification evaluates areas including infrastructure and business readiness, workforce preparedness, community leadership, cultural competence and the ability to attract and retain international investment. EMCID has held FDI-Qualified Community status since 2019. According to the district, only 13 economic development organizations nationwide are currently certified through the program. EMCID officials said the recognition reflects East Montgomery County's continued growth, workforce development and ability to compete for new business and international investment.
