New Caney Driver Critically Injured After Pickup Rolls Several Times on SH 242
A man was critically injured yesterday evening, August 24th after a pickup truck crash on SH 242 near Harrington Road. According to initial reports, the driver was traveling eastbound around 7 PM when he approached traffic stopped at a light. While braking and swerving to avoid the stopped vehicles, the truck reportedly lost control, crossed through a ditch and into the westbound lanes before rolling several times.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle and transported to Memorial Hermann The Woodlands with serious injuries, including a head injury and a possible punctured lung. A retired firefighter who came upon the crash reportedly provided medical assistance until first responders arrived. The roadway reopened around 8:30 PM. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
