New Caney Convention Center Has this been posted already? Somehow I missed it over the holidays... You can see the Valley Ranch movie theater in the background for reference to the location / size of this thing... -- "EMCID's Board of Directors is excited to announce the sale and delivery of just over $159 million in sales tax revenue bonds for the construction of the district's 210,000 sq. ft. convention center and 813-space attached parking garage at Valley Ranch. The plans include space for a future full-service conference hotel to connect to the venue and parking garage. Construction is expected to begin in January. The facility is designed by Helman Hurley Charvat Peacock/Architects, Inc. SpawGlass is the Construction Manager at Risk. Several local subcontractors will also be used on the job." Joe : It'll be nice IF it works out, but that's a big IF. EMCID is notorious for expen$ive boondoggles. Anyone interesting in buying the multi-million-dollar "intellectual property" for the Dino park?
