But did you read the Community Impact article? They also do a non-partisan Q&A. She and Mr. Alters both responded to that while their opponents - sitting incumbents - could not be bothered to.Unfortunately the League of Women Voters has gotten a reputation of being left-leaning. I appreciate that it's your go-to in this situation, but they are not the only provider of voting information.

TexasMom : Nope, I've been pleased in the past to find info on super-local races in Community Impact, and recommended them to others, but hadn't received or seen the issue with this article so hadn't known they'd covered school board this year. Thanks, I'll look it up; glad to know there's more info in there. (My same complaint applies to the other two candidates in the CI instance - I think all the candidates should reply to the questions in both sources. Anyone who doesn't make their case doesn't deserve a vote.)

I'd link it for you but my account is new so I can't.I agree that candidates should make their case! I wouldn't let the 411 deter you from considering a vote for Alters and Tompkins. I've been really impressed by the way they're getting out in the community to meet with voters. Whereas it doesn't appear the incumbents are doing much of anything. They didn't show up at the forum. They didn't respond to CI. We're a growing district, and it's exciting to see new people getting involved.
