Man Sentenced to Four Years in Prison for Fatal New Caney Crash

Dillon Jeffrey Ware, of Porter, pleaded guilty to manslaughter on October 28th, 2026, and received a four-year Texas prison sentence. Montgomery County court records confirm Judge Donna Hansen entered the conviction and sentence in the 523rd Judicial District Court. The case stems from a May 10th, 2024 crash at Valley Ranch and Olympic Forest in New Caney. Ware was reportedly traveling 90 MPH in a 35 MPH zone when his vehicle struck a Hyundai Santa Fe. The driver and passenger were injured, and the passenger, identified in local reporting as 94-year-old Ramona Meador, later died.

Court records show Ware was indicted on November 20th, 2025. The conviction and sentence may still be subject to appeal or other post-conviction proceedings.
