I went there when it first opened, as in "first." Wasn't even a gate. My dogs and I were the only people I ever saw there and we went about 3 times a week. I don't remember who owned it- City of Houston maybe? State (can't remember who first opened it from BSA)? Anyway the guy told me that we had 5000 acres all to our selves. It was wonderful. I was worried though because I could see where wild hogs had rooted around there. Walking those dogs over that wooden bridge was kinda neat. If I recall, there was no direct 1485 entrance. I have let a few boxer turtles loose there.
They will eventually own property all the way to Lake Houston which is why it has the name "lake" in it. At least that's what they told me.
