botanylover : Oh that's a great trip. That's great that they do that for getting good grades. I think it shows the kids anincentive to do well. But I think your kids probably do well anyway

botanylover , that park is way out in Katy. Wouldn't it make more sense to go to the Big Rivers water park on Hwy 242? That's lots closer.

Sweetie : As we were leaving the water park at 10 o'clock last night, my DS asked if they did this every year! 😆 I told him I didn't know but that we would check to see about that same time next year. It is a good incentive...

Cbear : We slathered in sunscreen!! And miraculously none of us got burned! I stood in the shade every chance I got, but the kids were out in the sun a lot!

otto : It's closer, but the math doesn't make sense. The closer park costs $45x4=$180, and Typhoon Texas cost us $0x3 + $20x1 = $20. That was pretty easy math for this non-common core Momma. 🙃

DixieDee : The kids had an excellent time, and I enjoyed watching them have fun. I even rode a few of the water slides myself. I was a bit shocked, though, by the amount of skin that was showing on the young people at the park. I was also surprised that the number of adults was about 2-5% of the total people there. it almost felt like Pinocchio's island. 😬
botanylover : Your math does make sense, even with the "hidden" costs of the automobile -- fuel, insurance, wear-and-tear, etc. The one-day fare at Grand Texas is $40 rather than $45, but that still can't compete with the price you paid.
