Holy Comforter Lutheran Church is “rolling out the barrel” for the return of The Kingwood Oktoberfest. This family fun event will take place on October 16, 2021, from noon to 6:00 pm at Holy Comforter Lutheran Church, located at 1901 Woodland Hills Drive. The Kingwood Oktoberfest will once again feature German fare, a children’s play area, polka music and much more. There will be even more entertainment this year with a DJ and extra time to unwind or dance your cares away until 6:00 p.m. As always, there will be games and activities for all ages.

Live music will be provided by The Texas Sound Check Band, formerly known as the City Polka Boy’s, who have been performing since the early 1970s. They have played at various festivals around the state, including the National Polka Festival in North Texas. In addition, DJ Rick Janacek will MC the event and entertain with music before and after the band.

The Kingwood Oktoberfest will once again feature beer from the local brewery Back Pew. Founded in 2015, Back Pew has quickly gained a name for its bold and unique flavors, as unique as the former church it calls home. The Kingwood Oktoberfest is proud to sell several of the most popular flavors of Back Pew beer at this year’s event for just five dollars, just as it has every year since Kingwood Oktoberfest started.

What Oktoberfest would be complete without German food? Volunteers from Holy Comforter Lutheran Church and the Holy Smokers will prepare and serve Bratwurst, sauerkraut, pretzels, hot dogs and chips. Water and soda will also be available for purchase.

There will be a children's area with plenty of fun and activities, such as face painting, craft stations, a Snapology station, multiple inflatables with climbing walls and slides, and much more!

Admission is seven dollars for adults and two dollars for children. Games and music are included in the admission fee. Food will be sold a la carte. So, join us once again for a day of family fun, music and dancing at The Kingwood Oktoberfest! Prost!

The official Bavarian Oktoberfest was cancelled this year due to Covid. It's usually held in September. Go figure.

BTW, "Holy Comforter Lutheran Church" sounds like something Robin would say to Batman.
