Disturbance Call Leads to Child Sexual Assault Arrest in New Caney 
On April 21, 2026, at approximately 4:45 p.m., Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office East Patrol deputies responded to a disturbance in the 21400 block of Dallas Street in New Caney. Upon arrival, deputies found an active situation involving 63-year-old Miguel Navarrete and a homeowner. Investigators determined the homeowner had returned home early and noticed an unfamiliar vehicle in the driveway. After entering the residence, the homeowner discovered Navarrete inside a bedroom with his teenage daughter. Navarrete was detained, and detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit were notified. The investigation revealed he had met the juvenile at a church in Houston and went to the residence with the intent to engage in a sexual relationship.
Navarrete was transported to the Montgomery County Jail and charged with Sexual Assault of a Child, a second-degree felony. Anyone who may have had contact with Miguel Navarrete or has additional information is urged to contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 936-538-5900.
