Bull Sallas splash pad update. They are FINALLY putting in the recirculating pump that they've promised. The splash pad has been closed two out of the three years we've been here. 😮 My kids will be so happy to hear that it will purportedly be open in August! 💦

botanylover :
Great news! Splash pads are so fun. The first time I saw one was about 20 years ago. My 2 oldest grands were loving it, and I joined them - so much fun!

botanylover : I simply can't believe that Precinct 4 built that splash pad as an expensive water-waster. Who made that decision? And couldn't they have fixed it earlier in the spring, while the kiddos were still in school? It'll reopen just in time to close for Labor Day. FYI, the splash pad at the Roman Forest city park is open daily.

otto : To say that is was poor planning is an understatement. My only guess is that a government official wanted accolades so they built the pad quickly and within a smaller budget. It was shortsighted to say the least and insanely wasteful. There is no excuse for it. I am glad they are fixing it finally so the community can enjoy it.
Yes, the one in Roman Forest is nice. It's a further drive for us, so we much preferred the Bull Sallas one. Nice that they have two so close to one another.

They should've started on these repairs earlier this year. You don't wait until summer to repair a summer water pad.
