Beware of Scam Alert Targeting Pet Owners in Texas
Montgomery County Animal Shelter Texas Attention! Scam Alert This is circulating again! We have just been notified that someone is reaching out to people who post their missing pet on "Lost Pet" Facebook groups or on NextDoor saying they are an employee of the shelter and the dog (or cat) is at the shelter. They are then providing an online payment option (PayPal, etc) for the owner to send money. These calls/texts are NOT coming from the shelter. The only way to reclaim an animal that has been impounded is to do so in person; the shelter does not have online payment options. We are heartbroken that someone is preying on people who have lost their pet and using our name to do so. Please don't be a victim! MCAS is located at 8535 Hwy 242 in Conroe Texas
