@HarleyRider : I think there's a similar situation in Porter with an O'Reilly's and Advance Auto Part. They're less than half a mile apart.

A little trivia about Autozone which might explain why they can build such expensive store. In the great roller coaster that is stocks, of all that are available, Autozone is the 4th most expensive on the market!! #1 is Berkshire Hathaway at $429,200 per share. #2 is NVR Inc at $4, 442 per share. #3 is Seaboard Corp at $3,944 per share. #4 Autozone at $2,194 per share. It's income last year was $2.41 billion.

@Librarian82 : Price per share isn't a good indicator. A small company with relatively few outstanding shares may still have a high price per share. I own some small bank stock which, until they decided to split 9 for 1 a couple of years ago, was priced at almost $17,000/share. Needless to say, I don't have a large number of shares in that bank.

@otto : Maybe there's a lot of people that are now having to fix their cars up rather than trade them in for the expensive new models
