Has anyone gone to an "Afternoon Tea"?
Has anyone gone to an "Afternoon Tea"? I've seen people do this high tea/afternoon tea events and I'm curious to know if anyone has done it. When I was doing a search for places in Houston, I saw prices ranging from $38 to $75 and one had a "smart chic" dress code. What? So out of curiosity, I went to that place's Instagram page and saw women dressed as if they were going to a night club or a cocktail party. A lot of chest showing 😅. One even dressed like Maria Antoinette 😆. Even though that place was only $38, I think I'd feel uncomfortable having to dress up in a way to match that "smart chic" style and I'm definitely not going to buy clothes just for that 😣. Ugh... Anyways... I found another place closer to us in Spring that charges the same but doesn't have a stupid dress code. If any of you has done this, please share your experience 😊.
garfieldgurl : I wasn't aware that was a 'thing'. I have gone to a tea on a cruise ship a couple of times, but I think it was casual. I don't remember anyone dressing up for it. The food was good.

Bloom : I found a blog with a list of places for afternoon tea and the majority were pretty expensive and some do have a dress code. These are all mainly in Houston. The one I posted about is in Spring and there's no dress code or anything stupid like that 😝.

Cbear : Hilarious! I thought about that when I saw all these women pretending to look like gold diggers 😆. But it's something I'd like to try at least once and $38 per person is not bad for everything it comes with.

-Egg Salad Sandwich
-Scone served with cream and jam
-Assorted mini desserts
