New Caney Driver Arrested After Exceeding 145 MPH With 1-Year-Old on Highway 59A one-year-old child was inside a Dodge Charger Hellcat whose driver allegedly exceeded 145 mph through heavy traffic on Highway 59 in the Porter/New Caney area, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. Deputies arrested the driver on charges of endangering a child and racing on a highway.The incident began around 1 PM yesterday, October 21st, when a sergeant assigned to the agency's Mustang unit spotted the Charger traveling approximately 90 mph. MCSO said the driver made offensive hand gestures toward other motorists and cut off vehicles, including a commercial truck. The Charger then accelerated past 145 mph where the posted speed limit was 65 mph, according to the agency. The sergeant maintained contact with the Charger until the driver stopped. Deputies discovered the child inside while detaining the driver.The charges are allegations, and an arrest is not a conviction.
