Suspicious Uber Delivery Leads to Drug Arrest in New CaneyA suspicious delivery reported by an Uber driver ultimately led to the arrest of a 39-year-old New Caney man on drug charges, according to Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable Kenneth "Rowdy" Hayden's Office. Authorities said the investigation began in August after an Uber driver contacted law enforcement about a package the driver had been asked to deliver. Deputies allege the package contained methamphetamine, prompting a criminal investigation.Investigators later obtained an arrest warrant for Jeremy Pierson and located him near Cutler Road in New Caney. Precinct 4 alleges deputies found additional methamphetamine when Pierson was taken into custody. Pierson was booked into the Montgomery County Jail and charged with second-degree felony Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver and third-degree felony Possession of a Controlled Substance.The charges and allegations are accusations, and an arrest is not a conviction.
