Slum landlord help needed. So my son really needs to break his lease and get out of this place. I will attach photos so please look. He has reported the bathroom again and again and again. Nothing. It has been nearly a year and so he is close to the end of the lease term. Last summer ..A/C was out for 3 weeks! They kept calling for maintenance and the guy comes out and keeps saying that the outside unit is running. Yes, it is but..it's not cooling. This is dreadful and the pictures are shocking. I told him to threaten to report to BBB, Houston Apartment association if they will not let him out of his lease. Also, post a review on Yelp, Google reviews, **** consumer etc. This is dangerously unhealthy.
Cbear : That's pitiful! I don't know anything about apartment leases, but your son does not need to live in that environment. It might be worth contacting an attorney. His health is more important than whatever expense it might cost to move somewhere else.

Bloom : I had no idea it was this bad! He told me about it but finally showed me the pictures! I just cried that my baby was dealing with this! I am so allergic to mold that I nearly need and epi pen..no way I could inhabit that. He does have a firm he is going to work with. They have to other apartments that they are looking at. They want to break the lease and if they get pushback, I suggested telling them that he would go to Yelp, google reviews and **** consumer to post pictures. We don't like to threaten but this is well beyond being reasonable. I am thinking maybe Amy Davis who is a kingwood resident and reporter on KPRC and Wayne Dolcefino might be good to contact. I thought of Wayne but someone on the other site mentioned Amy.

Bloom : Good question. There are some nasty neighbors though. He once saw a woman throwing dirty (presumably) diapers into the woods behind the building!

Bloom : Agreed. I emailed his a list of sources that can help get the word out etc. Calling the Houston health dept was on there along with tv stations who offer consumer assistance like KPRC Amy Davis and Bill Spencer who offers "Spencer solves it." Also Texas tenant advisor, Public health Harris county, Grizzy hood news. I am getting mad just thinking about this situation.
